FIVE ON FRIDAY - Weekend Plans!

Summer weekends in my family mean lots and lots of travel!  When we arn't traveling we are working around the house.  We have spent almost every weekend this summer somewhere other than Home.  I am excited that this weekend I get to stay Home Sweet Home.  Of course I have some fun activities planned for us though...can't just sit around all weekend!

ONE
Home Sweet Home

I get to sleep in my own bed.  That is glorious.  I get to wake up and make coffee and drink out of my favorite coffee cup on my couch!  I get to take a shower without rushing and knowing that someone else needs in there right after me.  Owning my home is a glorious thing!!

TWO
Dress Like a Cow, Get Free Chicken

Today is Cow Appreication Day at Chick-fil-a!  We are totally participating in this tonight for dinner.  I am sure the kids will love it and my pocket book will too.  You can't beat feeding a family of four for free!  Even if you do have to go so far as to dress up like a cow.

THREE
Evening Visit to Carowinds

We bought season passes for the first time since living here and having children this year.  We have already gone twice and I thought tonight would be a nice night to go as well.  We will have our Friday Family Fun night at Carowinds.  They have nightly fireworks and the Littles love going.  I love having passes and being able to leave whenever we want and not feel like we have wasted our money!  And...it is only thirty minutes away from our house!  Win win!!

FOUR
River Jam with Friends at the US White Water Center

Tomorrow night we will be visiting the White Water Center here in Charlotte, NC for the first time.  Yes I know...I drive by it every day and have for eight years and have never gone!  Well tomorrow night we are going with friends to River Jam to relax and listen to some folk music while drinking a few brewskies!  I am so totally excited to just relax and hang with E & B!

FIVE
Get that Closet Organized

Ok...confession time!  It is mid-July and I still have sweaters hanging in my closet and bags of summer clothes in the floor.  This is not like me at all.  I was holding out for a closet remodel, but we have not had time to do any of that.  So, this is my Sunday project!  I have tons of ideas and need to get on it!  Ugh...it is a daunting task...I may just live out of bags for the next few months.  Hehehe!

What do you have planned for the weekend?  Are you getting free chicken today?  How about organizing a closet?  Do you want to come over and do mine???

  1. Your weekend sounds amazing! I love busy days like that...more memories to create and cherish. :)

I wish Trinidad had a fun theme park like that...I love roller coasters and adventure rides. It's my thing. This weekend, I have no real plans. I am going with the flow. School just closed this week for us and I vowed that this vacation would be completely easy and laid back. So far, so good. Who knows, if the rain stops, I would go to the beach. :)

    1. Melanie, Friday night was a great time to go! There was hardly anyone there and it was cooler. I would have to highly suggest it! Have fun.

  5. Oh my goodness, I really wish we had Chick-Fil-A here! I've never been, but I've only heard good things about it, and the cow thing is possibly the best ever. And I love the closet cleaning quote ;-)

    1. Jayda, where are you that you do not have a Chick-Fil-A?? That is the most horrible thing I have ever heard. It is a staple in our family and we love when it is free!!!
