WEEKLY PINspirations - Week No. 2

Hello Monday!  I am pleased to announce my new blog name, Sweet Southern T.  After much thought, many prayers and sleepless nights I thought this was the best for me and my little blog.  I will still be showing my passion for organizing and crafting, but also my passions for other things like shopping, beauty products, new little accessories and everything else in this crazy life I have.  So, welcome to the new name, same space, Sweet Southern T blog.

As I said last week (for my new readers), I have decided to bring you my Weekly PINspirations every Monday.  These will be what I have found in the past or recently on my favorite source of social media, Pinterest, that have inspired me.  I will be showing you something in each of the following categories: Something to Organize, Something to Make, Something to Clean, Something to Eat, Something to Wear and Something to Live By.

Be sure to stop back by on Wednesday of this week to see the reveal of the PINspiration I decided to make my own from last week's list!

Now, without further ado I bring you this week's PINspirations!

Something to Organize:  This one is a bit of a cheat, but I figured you may be "pinspired" by it.  Last year I decided to take on the one room in the house that had not been painted, organized, or even tended to at all.  I viewed it as merely a workspace and not an area that needed to be decorated or much less organized.  Well let me tell you, laundry gets pretty much like work when you are digging for cleaners and detergents and lost socks in an ugly builders grade white room.  Give a room a coat of paint, clear off some counter space, add some pretty baskets, clean out the supply drawers and you have yourself a room you actually want to spend a few minutes in! Find the original pin here.

Something to Make:  I absolutely love mason jars!  I love to drink out of them, decorate with them and whatever else you can find to do with them.  I actually found these pretty little things in a local antique store here and wanted to make my own.  As always I turned to Pinterest and found them at an Etsy store.  I kept digging and found a short tutorial here.  These are adorable and would be great Spring decor!

Something to Clean:  I don't know about you, but I hate the smell of a garbage disposal after a while of not being cleaned.  YUCK!  I mean, can you imagine what kind of nasty food particles are hanging out in there...So clean it up for goodness sake!  I used to buy very expensive little drops from the store to do the job, but this looks MUCH MUCH cheaper and just as effective.  I am all for thrifty and effective.  I am going to try this DIY disposal cleaner.

Something to Wear:  I love the gel paint that you can get from the salon, however, I do not love the price tag every two weeks or so.  At my salon it runs from $30-$40 each time.  I also love to paint my nails, like all girls, and hate when I work so hard to not paint my entire hand then it chips in two days! Ugh, can we say ANNOYING!  Well I did a little research on Pinterest and found this Sensationail at home gel paint set.  I went to our local Target and found the last one in the color I wanted, Coral Sunset!  I popped that baby in my buggy (this is a southern shopping cart) and it is now at home with me.  I can't wait to try this out! Do you have an at home gel kit?  Which is it?  What are your favorite colors?

Something to Eat:  Well I can't be a southern girl without telling you about pimento cheese.  This stuff is YUM-O!  It is even better homemade.  I put this stuff on everything from burgers, toast, steak, even omelets. This recipe looks amazing!  Try it out and let me know what you think.

Something to Live By:  One of my all time favorite movies is The Wizard of Oz!  There are so many life lessons in that movie all rolled into one very entertaining, magical musical number.  The quote in this week's something to live by pinspiration is a great one!  We should all remember that no matter how lost we feel we always hold the power inside ourselves to make it through anything.  No one can give this to us, no amount of searching will help us find it and no matter how sparkly and perfect the shoes (although this is always a perk), we can make it on our own if we just believe in ourselves!

I hope that you are inspired by this week's PINspirations!  Let me know what you think and what PINspirations you try.  Also, don't forget to check back to see which PINspiration from last week I made my own.  Happy Monday!

  1. I love being inspired by Pinterest, now if only I could act on it a little more often. I may have to do a post like this in the future, it's such a cute idea. Yay for gel at home kits, the color I'm using now is "go girl" by Gelish and I love it. It's the perfect neutral/pink for me currently, but I am looking forward to purchasing a bright coral-y color so I might have to try that one out. And I have no admit I'm just not a pimento fan, but my boyfriend LOVES it!

    1. Thanks for stopping by Mary. I absolutely love the at home gel kit! I will have to look for the "go girl" color. I like to go back and forth from bright to natural. I never know what mood I may be in. Ha!

    1. Kristen, thanks for leaving some love. I love masons in all forms, but these looked super easy and you can do it with any color. They were selling for $15 each at the antique store. Got to love a good DIY that costs half the price! Happy Monday.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me some love! I read and appreciate each and every one of your comments. They make my heart smile!! I will reply to them, it just may take me a bit. Please be patient and I promise to get back to you. I can't wait to chat!
