YOU'RE A MEAN ONE MR. GRINCH...

This is by far my favorite time of the year...besides fall of course! I love all the festivities and fun activities I get to share with my family.  I wanted to share one of our favorite traditions with you...Introducing...

Grinch Dinner 2014!

I started this tradition a few years back and it has evolved since then.  Last night we enjoyed our Grinch Dinner and finished it off with the movie of course.

A new item that I added this year were the menu cards.  I made them with Picmonkey and some downloadable Grinched Font.  You are welcome to use the same menu printable provided below.  I simply printed them as 5x7 photos in my print option.

I also added a few Grinch printables that I found on Pinterest in a few dollar store frames that I reuse for different occasions.  I think they added to the festiveness, don't cha think?

My other decorations had been picked up from year to year from the Dollar Tree.  I used different color chargers as serving trays and long colorful napkins as place mats.  My festive green plates are from Big Lots with matching napkins.  I love using paper plates for this dinner because of the quick clean up.  I want to enjoy the movie too you know!

The Grinch cups and candy cane plastic straws were purchased from Walmart a few years ago.  I am sure you can still find them though.  They were in the large bins of plastic character cups for $0.99.

The Hubs and my favorite part of the dinner is of course the food!! We love these green beans and hashbrowns with cheese! I actually made the green beans for Thanksgiving this year.  They were a hit!  I will be sure to share in the next week or so.

The littles' favorite part of the dinner is the Beezlenut Splash a.k.a. Sprite Float with Lime Sherbert.  It is bubbly and fun and just about the only time they get ice cream with dinner!

What would a Grinch Dinner be without Who Pudding!  Now, I have made the actual Who Pudding before, but my family was not a big fan.  I have found that Jello instant pudding is a much quicker and more favorable option!  I topped it with Cool Whip and holiday Oreos.

After dinner the kids colored Grinch coloring pages while the Hubs and I cleaned up the kitchen.  Once everything was done, we started the movie and called it a successful night!

Christmas really is something more...Christmas truly does not come from a store!  Christmas comes from the joy and hearts of children.  I love doing these fun things with my Littles and seeing the joy it brings them!  Does Grinch Dinner sound like something you will add to your holiday traditions?

A LETTER TO ME

Now that school is back in full swing, this time of year always brings back a bit of nostalgia for me.  My high school and college years were the most memorable and also the hardest for me.  If I could write a letter to myself at 18, it would go a little like this...

Dear Tela,

I hope this letter finds you well.  You probably were expecting it as you live your life like it should be something from a country song.  Don't worry a really awesome country singer named, Brad Paisley writes a song about just this very thing in a few years.  You will love it!

I wanted to give you a few pointers that I have learned along the way that may help you as you go through this journey called life.

Don't take those beautiful mountains you live in for granted.  Trust me you will miss them when you are gone.

Pay attention and don't just act interested when Momma tries to show you how to make her secret recipes. One day you are going to want chicken and dumplings and will be too far away to have them made for you. Oh and don't roll your eyes at everything she says.  You will come to find out she really is right and is always there for you even if you don't think so. Don't ever be ashamed of her or her silly ways. She is the woman God chose to be your mother and you will realize he made a perfect choice!

Cherish those friends that you have made.  The few close ones that you share all of your secrets with.  I know you don't think it could ever be possible that anyone you see everyday at school could ever leave this earth, but trust me it will happen!  Too many in your graduating class will not make it to see even their 25th birthday much less their 30th.

Don't go chasing after boys.  They will come to you and when they do be strong!  You know who you are and their sly words shouldn't change that.  I promise God has a plan for you and Mr. Right will come along in His time.

Have a little fun!  Don't take things so seriously.  There is enough time for that in the future.  I know you think you have a ton of responsibilities now, but you better enjoy this freedom while it lasts.

I know senior year can be stressful trying to find where you want to go to school and what you will major in. Don't stress so much!!  You will go to school for what you love, but that won't be what you do for the rest of your life because you will change your mind.  So, now is not the time to stress over what to do with the rest of your life.  Just roll with it!

You will make some wonderful new friends.  They will become your family, your sisters, and once you leave college, they will still be there for you even though you haven't seen them in quite a while!

You have so much going for you.  You are doing great!  Don't be afraid of the future, it will all work out amazing for you.  Although it may be hard at times, remember to put your trust in God and he will carry you through.

You will achieve so much more than you can imagine.  Keep your head up and your feet moving.  Make every moment count and treat people with kindness.  You never know when you may need them again. Don't take anything or anyone for granted and thank God daily for everything he has blessed you with.
Good luck girly!  I know you will do great.

PUMPKIN PICKIN' and FALL FASHION PICKS

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!! I know that is supposed to be in a Christmas song, but really...this is my most wonderful time of year!

I have been gone for a bit, but am back to share with you my favorite time of the year...

IT'S FALL Y'ALL!!!

In all of it's glory!  This is the time of year that makes me the most happy!  I love the glorious fall colors, family gatherings, spooky ghost stories, yummy treats, hay rides, festivals and most of all...

PUMPKIN PICKIN' and FALL FASHION!

I love pumpkin picking so much that we just couldn't wait to go to our favorite pumpkin farm the first week in October.  It was a perfect fall day complete with a crisp breeze, blue skies and tons of sunshine!

I chose to dress in layers this year.  Last year ended up being hot, so there was no telling what our North Carolina weather would want to be once we got to the farm.

I am a usual fan of plaid at the pumpkin patch, but because my littles were wearing their fair share, I decided to mix it up a bit for photo opp sake.

Floral Poplin Shirt || Old Navy (old)

Jeans || Old Navy
Riding Boots || Old Navy (similar)
Boot Cuffs (Olive Green) || The Preppy Pair

I realized when doing this post that Old Navy was the designer of choice for the day! I have a real obsession with Old Navy, so it should not have surprised me that my entire outfit was from there.

My favorite part of fall fashion has to be boots and scarves!  I own multiple pairs of boots in different heights and colors as well as a million different scarves.

My one new and favorite addition to my fall fashion favorites are my boot cuffs in olive green from The Preppy Pair!

These are a bit different than boot socks.  They are literally cuffs that go around your pants at the top of your boot to look as if you are wearing the entire sock, but without the bulk.  I love these for the cooler days that you don't really need the warmth of a sock, but still want the look of one.

These boot cuffs are only $5.00 right now on The Preppy Pair!! Yes you read that right...$5.00!!
Go now and get yours.  Quantities are limited and you do not want to miss this deal!

Nothing says fall pumpkin pickin' like a picture with good ole John Deere!

Now on to a few pictures of my little pumpkins pickin' pumpkins...

Have you visited your favorite pumpkin patch yet?  What are your fall fashion picks?
Don't forget to visit the gals over at The Preppy Pair to get your own boot cuffs this season before they are all gone.  Be sure to check out their other cute things while you are there!

Products were provided to me for review purposes.  However, all

VITALITY AT ITS FINEST!

Hi loves!  I know I have been a bit MIA lately, but life is taking its toll on me.  I am extremely busy and have decided to take a small break from blogging everyday to enjoy the wonders of REAL LIFE for a while.
However, I wanted to share with you my recent delivery from Influenster!!  I was lucky enough to receive and review the Vitality Vox Box and wanted to share a few of my favorite items with you!

Let me start by saying all of these items were amazing, but I did have my favorite picks.  One of them was the Bikini Ready Energy Gummies!  I was lucky enough to receive the entire bottle to review.  I know some other Influensters only received a small amount.

These have been a life saver.  I know you all are familiar with the 3 o'clock slump...well these babies will cure that for sure.  All you do is power down five of these little tasty things and within a bit you are ready for anything.  They gave me the boost of energy I needed to make it through the rest of my day.

They are delicious and it actually feels like you are having a treat!

My second favorite item in the box was the new Softlips Cube!  How cute is this thing?  I love the cube because it has its own unique shape that I can find buried in the massiveness of my Mary Poppins purse.

This chapstick is ultra smooth and does not leave your lips greasy or overly shiny.  I received the mint flavor which smells and tastes great.  It is also not "spicy" as my Littles say, like other mint chapsticks.  They are able to use it without having "burnt lips" as well.

It keeps my lips soft and smooth for hours after application.  This is my new favorite!

My third favorite item in the box was the Pure Leaf Tea.  However, I must say that I was a little disappointed that I did not receive the sweet version, being Sweet Southern T and living in the south and all...

But this was a great healthy alternative paired with a little Truvia sweetener. It was refreshing and delicious.  I actually saw it on sale at my local grocery store after receiving it, but I had not reviewed it yet and missed the sale!  Dang my procrastination!

This Pure Leaf Tea comes in multiple varieties including Sweetened and Lemon as well.

Overall I was extreamly impressed with the products in my #VitalityVoxBox.  Thank you to Influenster for allowing me to review these products complementary.  Free is always for me!

I encourage you to check out at least one of these products for yourself.  Let me know which one you get and how you like it.
